Did you always know that you wanted to wear a Bridal crown on your Wedding day?

Kimberley: Actually I hadn't really thought about bridal accessories at all, it was only a few months before the big day when I was doing some wedding research online, that I came across a few websites that had amazing head pieces. After reading your article on Melbourne Bridal jewellery and Wedding hair accessory designer Stephanie Browne Australia, that I decided to go into her store and take a look.

And can I say, all her pieces are amazing! Stephanie herself helped me try on and pick the perfect bridal accessories for my fairy tale day. I had originally wanted minimalist jewellery and accessories, but when I tried on a few of SBA's crowns, it just felt so right, and made me feel like a total princess.

➳ How long does it take to create a Bridal crown like Kim's?

Stephanie: Around 3-6 weeks

➳ Did you need to take your Wedding dress with you or a photograph?

Kimberley: I showed Stephanie a few pictures of my Wedding dress, and we picked out a few pieces from there. I definitely knew I wanted something gold coloured to match the white and gold colour theme of the Wedding. Stephanie was such a big help and was so kind as to let me try on lots of different styles to make sure I picked the perfect one!

I ended up picking the Waltz Crown which had a mixture of gold leaves and white and blush coloured pearls. I took inspiration from the Crown to make our perfect wedding cake, which was adorned with gold and white sugar peonies and roses.

➳ Your hair looked beautiful down, did your choice of headpiece influence your choice of hairstyle?

Kimberley: It certainly did. I always knew I wanted my hair to be down and side parted, but I changed to have a centre part so that the crown and my hair would be symmetrical. This looked cleaner and more chic, and really made the crown a feature piece.

➳ On average, how long should a Bride set aside for a consultation with SBA when deciding on their Bridal accessories?

Stephanie: Usually half an hour is adequate. I like to see a picture of their fabric or gown, how they plan on wearing their hair etc. I find brides usually come in with a good idea of what they like, as they may have already been on our website, or looked through our Instagram.

➳ Tell us more about your experience during your consultation:

Kimberley: Stephanie made the whole experience so easy, and I would have easily gotten lost in all the different crowns without her guidance. I really enjoyed speaking to Stephanie about her business and the industry, and it was lovely meeting her daughter and son who were also at the Armadale shop. Being a bride, it can be very overwhelming when selecting all the different bits and pieces to create a certain look, but I absolutely love my crown (the Waltz Crown) which Stephanie herself artfully created. And it will be a piece that I will keep and pass onto my future daughter.

Stephanie: Kim is delightful and she had a good idea of what she liked already and what would work with her gown and hair style. Kim has a great sense of style so I really didn't need to do much.... show her pieces and give her information like pearl colours and options and honest advice.

➳ What do you look for when deciding the best style of accessories for your Brides?

Stephanie: For me, number one is how it will work with the gown. I value my relationships with dozens of designers but seriously isn't the rule of accessories to enhance the gown? That's how I work. Secondly, is to get an idea on where the Wedding and reception will be held and how formal it will be. Lastly, the hair style - other factors can also come into the decision too such as, the bridal party attire etc. Usually the Bride will have a picture in their mind of how they want to look and I support that because its their day and its important to them.
