KATY + GENE | SUNSET ELOPEMENT NOOSA HEADS

SUNSET COVE WEDDINGS NOOSA ELOPEMENT
Katy & Gene eloped from Victoria to the beaches of Noosa Heads. Their day was everything they had hoped for & more, sharing it with the most important people in their lives. Katy's mum & dad & Gene’s mum came over from New Zealand. "The team at RACV Noosa Resort were amazing & we can’t wait to go back to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary." Katy + Gene.

➳ How did the two of you first meet? Mutual friends introduced us one night at D’Angelo’s winery in Officer, Vic. After explaining why I was late, we fast tracked our relationship – Gene gave me keys to his place 4 days after we met, we were engaged 11 months later & married 9 months after that. As we had spoken about getting married, our friends thought it would happen on 7.7.17 (my favourite number – 7)

➳ Tell us about the proposal: After we had dinner one evening, Gene knelt down in front of me whilst I was on the couch & proposed right there & then. It was the 3rd of July (his late grandfathers birthday) just a couple of days earlier than the 7th so a surprise for all.

➳ What led you to decide on your Wedding venue? We had started the process of a ‘full’ Wedding set to take place 18.8.18 but it all got a bit much so we threw the idea of ‘eloping’ into the mix. Many hours spent researching on the net & Noosa seemed to be the place to celebrate our special day.

➳ What was your favourite detail about the day? My bouquet & arbour flowers.

➳ How long did it take you to find your dress? I booked an appointment at 2 boutiques for one Saturday a month after we got engaged. The first bridal boutique I visited Empire Bridal, I tried on 6 dresses in the style I thought I wanted – long sleeves & lace. The owner then asked me to try on one she chose – nothing like the style I had in mind. I came out of the dressing room with a huge smile on my face & my body language said it all – I had found the one!!

➳ You most favourite moment of the day: Seeing Gene for the first time as I walked down the aisle towards him & taking his hand. Sneaking off to share our first drink as husband & wife – just the 2 of us sitting there in a bar was also a special moment.

➳ What does marriage mean to you? Forever & ever. Officially a team. Supporting, encouraging & loving unconditionally.

➳ Were there any stand out vendors for the day? All the ladies were stand out! What a talented team we had helping us create our magical day.

Wedding songs:
I walked down the aisle to a string quartet version of Inxs – Never Tear Us Apart & we had Slice of Heaven by Dave Dobbyn playing while signing the marriage certificate. See what we did there – Australia & New Zealand!!
