Sydney based bridal gown designers behind the Peter Trends Bridal label are sisters Monique + Paulein offer ethereal ultra feminine bridal gown designs with a nod to yesteryear. But having said that, today the Peter Trends bride is a strong, free spirited unique female in a league of her own; she appreciates romance and fashion but can effortlessly capture a sense of timeless beauty.

how and when was Peter Trends Bridal born? My sister and I are second generation designers in our company. In 1969 our creative mother Elvie, started a business in millinery and then bridal accessories when we were just babies. When we were in high school we opened a boutique and began designing and selling wedding gowns and it grew from there. Now we are sending our gowns around Australia, to the USA and the UK. By growing up in the industry and dealing with brides every day, we quickly became experienced at helping clients find the perfect gown. We understand what suits most body shapes and understand an individual’s aesthetic while having a finger on the pulse of the latest trends.

advice: Take along some images of favourite styles that you have seen from social media. Show these to your consultant and then once youhave tried some similar styles, be open to your consultant suggestions. Today’s bride doesn’t want fuss and drama; she usually wants simplicity, ease and comfort factor. Our Brides want to wear their gown effortlessly all day and enjoy her surroundings at the same time. We want our Brides to feel fabulous and be the best version of herself.

did you always know that you wanted to design Bridal couture? We were born into the business however we both pursued other careers and travelled after school and college. Shortly after we began working full time on our collections, we both got married in the same year! We knew from the experience of designing our own gowns that we had a passion for creating a dream gown for every bride to be.

do you have a personal favourite style? With every collection we have a few favourites but it’s difficult to choose just one from so many. They are like children, it’s hard to single out just one.

do you have any classic stories that you would like to share from your experiences? Recently we have started to meet the daughters of the brides we dressed when we first opened our head office boutique in Sydney. Its very fullfilling to meet our clients and their families and be a part of their celebration of love.

We also love working with our retail partners around Australia and overseas and sharing their experiences.

what is the best part about what you do: The best part about our job is creating a gown that surpasses our client’s expectations and making her feel special, beautiful and unique.
