From the well-known team behind Osteria in Casuarina and Taverna in Kingscliff, this newly renovated wedding venue combines a beautiful outlook, Mediterranean beach club interiors and award-winning food to create one of the most sought-after venues on the Tweed Coast.
➳ How and when did ANCORA WEDDINGS come to be? We took the project on in September last year with an official launch in early November. It was a natural progression with our recent successes and growth in the Tweed Coast’s wedding industry. Our team were very excited when we saw the venue located on the waterfront with the beautiful parklands right next door. It was such a natural fit. ➳ Tell us about what ANCORA can offer to Brides + Grooms for their Wedding day? In short, the best waterfront location in our region. Once you walk through those doors, you could be anywhere. We have styled and modelled the offering on the beach club vibes of the European coast which carries through to the Greek inspired menu that is developed at our sister venue Taverna in Kingscliff.
➳ Did you always know that you wanted to manage a Wedding + function venue? No, we were restaurant focused at the start but the ability to create unique and individual events for couples offers a lot in regards to creativity, excitement and satisfaction. It is fast becoming the biggest part of the PLB Group of venues and restaurants.

➳ Do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences? There are so many to be honest and it would be unfair to say that any are better than others as we are creating the best day of people’s lives but I can say that we are very proud to have that responsibility and the gratification that comes from this side of the business is exceptional. We have grown as a business and as people by being involved in such a wonderful industry.
➳ What advice would you offer to a Bride + Groom to-be who are just starting out on their search for the perfect venue? This is easy, we spend so much time on dresses, photographers and small details but there is one thing more than any other that will make your Wedding day the best day of your life, make sure your guests have a great time! With 80-100 guests at most Weddings, you will only be able to spend 3-4 minutes with each of them and you will be left feeling like it wasn’t enough with any of them. Make sure that they enjoy the other 6 hours that you aren’t spending with them and they will be telling you that it is the best Wedding that they have been to! It won’t be about the cake and the chairs for them, the photos will capture that anyway, show them a really good time!
➳ Tell us about the best part about what you do: That is easy too! We constantly add and improve our spaces to make sure that we can deliver the best day of people’s lives. The industry changes quickly and trends are evolving all the time, we love looking at what we can do to add to a couples very magic day.
