"I adore shooting in natural light and scouting new scenic locations and in Canberra you don’t need to travel far to find it." Zelda - Zelda Green Photography

what was the inspiration behind this shoot? I wanted to kick off Canberra’s defrosting from winter and ring in the new Wedding season with an outdoors shoot that really shows off some of Canberra’s beautiful Hinterland scenery. I adore shooting in natural light and scouting new scenic locations and in Canberra you don’t need to travel far to find it. I imagined something dreamy and elegant but a little bit rustic in this wonderful patch of hinterland that I stumbled upon.

what are some of the highlights you had during the shoot process:
Well the logistics of finding the vendors and the model and bringing us all together on a date and time that actually worked for all of our crazy work schedules was a massive challenge. It probably took about a month of planning with various locations not working out initially so the highlight was simply making it happen in the end.

did you face any challenges on the day? Yes - it rained on the day and for a moment I thought the shoot wouldn’t be able to go ahead! Ever the optimist though we spent some time waiting it out and eventually the weather gods came to the party. We had just a 2 hour gap in rain to make it happen and in the end the slightly moody sky added a nice touch to the dreamy vibe of this shoot I think.

what led you to decide on this shoot location? I’m always on the lookout for shoot locations while driving around Canberra and when I see long grass it gets me excited every time. It’s so romantic looking and catches the light beautifully at certain times of the day. I had passed this spot near my house many times but never stopped to scout it properly. When I did I knew it would suit the theme of this shoot really well.

what was your favourite detail about the shoot day? The Grace Loves Lace dress and floral headband together. I think they really complimented each other and fitted right in to the warm colour palette of the surrounding nature.

favourite moment/s from the day: Finding that rock for the model to stand on as we were packing up and finishing for the day. Those images were the lucky last and some of my favourite.
