Q+A: SHANNON CLAIRE MAKEUP | BRIDAL MAKEUP ARTIST GOLD COAST QLD

GOLD COAST WEDDING MAKEUP ARTIST BRIDAL MAKEUP
"With over a decade of experience, quality up to date products and a love of making you look and feel beautiful - It’s heart warming being chosen to be apart of someone’s special day and I am honoured to be apart of it." Shannon - Shannon Claire Makeup

how was Shannon Claire Makeup born? Well to be honest Shannon Claire Makeup is still very new! However I have worked as a makeup artist for 11 years, most of those years in various roles for a beauty brand such as Event Makeup Artist and Account Executive. It wasn’t until my son was born (honeymoon baby, watch out Brides to be!) that I decided if I’m working and spending time away from my family it has to be really worth it! Whilst I loved my time with that brand my passion is creating beautiful one on one makeovers with my clients, and that’s how I wanted to spend my time. Freelancing is definitely not a job to me, it’s a hobby that I enjoy every day.
what can Shannon Claire Makeup offer a Bride to-be for their Wedding day? Shannon Claire Makeup will bring you a professional makeup and hair service with over a decade of experience, quality up to date products and a love of making you look and feel beautiful. It’s heart warming being chosen to be apart of someone’s special day and I am honoured to be apart of it.

did you always know that you wanted to be a makeup artist? Yes! Straight out of high school I decided I wanted to be a makeup artist. I enrolled to complete a diploma of makeup and then obtained further certificates in Los Angeles in Bridal and Glamour, Film and TV and airbrushing. Best decision ever.
do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences? Within my time as a makeup artist the most fun, relaxed and stress free Wedding days I have attended are the ones that book enough time for each person getting hair and makeup done. Makeup generally takes 45 minutes to complete but I like to book in an hour per person. This means there is enough time if something is running behind, makeup is not rushed and you can just soak up and enjoy every moment with your bridal Party!

advice: 1. Don’t be afraid to be specific in what you want. How do you picture yourself on your wedding day? Start pinning and saving inspiration photos of what you do and don’t like so you can show your artist. The ‘what I don’t like’ is just as important as the images of what you do like.
2. Search Instagram and Facebook and look at their tagged photos as well as their feed. Ensure you are happy with their work in other images.

3. Book in advance! Don’t leave it too late otherwise you may not get in with your 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice! I am already taking bookings for the start of 2020.

do you have a personal favourite style? I absolutely do! I love soft, blended eye makeup. A smoked out liner. Fresh and glowing skin, dewy only in the right areas. Full, Fluffy lashes and all shades of nude on the lips. In saying that I do also love a good winged liner and bold lip for a pop of colour.
the best part about what you do: It would definitely be when the Bride first looks in the mirror once makeup is complete! When their eyes light up and you can tell they look and FEEL beautiful. That’s the best part for sure!
