The winner of the 2018 Australian Bridal Awards for Queensland in Hire and third place winner in styling is the amazing Brisbane based Wedding styling & hire biz - Berry Vintage Hire. Hard-working & creative duo, Renee & Dan share how it all began for their now thriving Wedding styling & hire business and offer expert advice to help couples choose the best for their Wedding day.

How and when was BERRY VINTAGE HIRE born? Berry Vintage started out in 2016. It started as a small sole trader business - mainly as a way of keeping busy and bringing in some money while I had a baby at home. However, this quickly changed and bookings came in thick and fast! It wasn’t long before my hubby Daniel also came on board. Today in 2018 we are now a small company with a dedicated team who work along side us. We absolutely love what we do, and we think that this shines through in all our creations.

What can BERRY VINTAGE HIRE offer a couple for their Wedding day? Berry Vintage offer a unique style with most of our pieces being one-off or handmade here at Berry Vintage. We offer a personalised touch when planning with us. We endeavour to answer all your questions and emails quickly, and we genuinely care about every one of our customers - ensuring their day is as stress free and smooth as possible. We like to go above and beyond and give a wow factor to all our set ups.

We offer our customers everything from Tipi Marquees to cutlery and we have many ceremony and reception packages to choose from. Our style is Boho/rustic with lots of timber, cane, greenery and brass. We hand craft all our garlands (greenery and flowers) and we use the highest quality artificial flowers and greenery. This keeps the cost down for customers and it is very hard to tell they are artificial! This year we won the 2018 Australian Bridal Awards for Queensland in Hire and we were placed third in styling!

Did you always know that you wanted to be a Wedding and Event stylist? No, we most certainly didn’t know we would end up in the field of Wedding styling. Dan worked on high end super yachts overseas and I worked as a wildlife demonstrator on the Gold Coast before we began our journey as business owners and stylists! Our skills we took from our previous backgrounds - especially people skills have most certainly allowed us to shine in this industry.

Advice: Our advice for couples looking for the perfect wedding and styling decor would be to find somewhere that listens to what you want and genuinely cares about bringing your vision to life. Read reviews from previous customers and do your research to make sure they are the right fit for you.

Do you have a personal favourite Wedding styling feature? Our favourite item in our inventory would be our Nordic tipis. There is nothing else like them, they create an awe inspiring scene that will set any Wedding apart. They not only provide the protection from the weather, they also create an amazing atmosphere that will have your guests mystified.

Please tell us about the best part about what you do: The best part about what we do is driving home, totally exhausted knowing that we have created something amazing for our customers. We love seeing the look on their faces and receiving feedback from our customers about our items and service we provided. Knowing that we have made our customers happy is the best feeling for us, and most certainly the best part of Berry Vintage. Our second favourite part is the creative side. Dan and I both like to create. Dan makes all the bars, benches and tables and I make all the garlands and decorative items. This is very rewarding for us.
