"I'm there to support my couples, make them comfortable and get them legally hitched with all the smiles and none of the hassles." Donna - Confetti Days

A pair of Donna's gorgeous friends were getting hitched and things were starting to spiral... with three bridesmaids already lined up she wanted two more but she declined (Donna had that honour more than once and was feeling a bit old for the job). Jokes were made about getting a license to marry online - which she took one step further and actually did! "Becoming a celebrant was an amazing decision - not only as a gift to my friends, but as a gorgeous way to open up my own future at a time I didn't realise I needed to diversify my own career! As a graphic designer I have been happily creating for 20+ years, including copywriting - so it wasn't as big of a leap as you might imagine." Donna says.

What can you offer a couple for their Wedding day? Authenticity. I will feel out their vibe and try to capture 'them' in my ceremony. I hear the request for 'short and sweet' a lot - along with a fear of public speaking (and crying) - so I try to find a place they are comfortable expressing these really big emotions and promises in front of their nearest and dearest. It's a really big important thing they do and whether they have a guest list of 2 or 200 - I'm there to support them, make them comfortable and get them legally hitched with all the smiles and none of the hassles. I also stay out of the photos for most of the ceremony by conducting the proceedings from out on the edge (I totally get that not wanting the attention thing). So I won't be in their photos for the kiss... but I'll be there when they need me.

Do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences? Word of mouth and recommendations totally trump pretty insta-stories. Ask your friends, pay attention to the feedback. Anyone can look great on social media but if you don't connect then its just going through the motions. I get my best new couples through recommendations from other couples.

Advice: Meet up - chat, hang out and ask all the questions. If you don't like the person you are paying to marry you, you're going to be disappointed.

Do you have a personal favourite style of Wedding? Don't make me choose! Every single ceremony leaves me with a big grin. I love elopements, intimate ceremonies, massive parties, family bonanzas - they're all pretty great. I think the best thing about weddings is the people, so every single new one is my favourite.

Please tell us what is the best part about what you do: I get to meet people on the way to one of the happiest day of their lives (so far), to hear their great stories and share some really intimate knowledge about them, then stand up there basking in all that love on the day. Even better I get smiles and tears and hugs from the nanna's and aunties and uncles and especially mums and dads - what's not to love about that!
