Not to mention 110 dlbs with music, the option to BYO beverages & select your own preferred licensed catering company. By offering all of these things in one venue the couple has the freedom to create something that truly reflects them as a couple.
How and when did The Lushington come to be? Leon the owner had a vision of turning a building he already had into one of Brisbane's best venues. Taking his time to ensure the venue was perfect before launching into the event market, you can see the dedication to detail & perfection in the space. The venue has only been out to market since September last year & the response has already been amazing - a good sign of things to come.
Did you always know that you wanted to manage a Wedding + function venue? Leon the owner has not worked in the industry before but has proved to be a quick learner. I consult for Leon to help build the business - My name is Nicolle Toohey. I have worked in the events industry in Brisbane for over 25 years & now have my own consulting company helping new or renovated venues create a brand in what is now a very competitive industry. I found my dream job at a very young age as an events/wedding planner & have gained so much from everything I have achieved over the years.
Do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences? To always back yourself & your dream even when you are the new kid on the block in as I said before a very competitive industry. Always believe in your vision & never give up on the possibility ahead if you follow your passions & dreams.
What advice would you offer to Nearly Weds who are just starting out on their search for the perfect venue? I always say the most important decision in wedding planning is who you are going to marry - if you have that decision right everything else is easy. Finding the right venue for you is a bit like finding the right partner - you will just know it suits everything you have been looking for & dreaming of for your special day.
Tell us about the best part about what you do: Everything! My job gives me flexibility, creativity, socialising, challenges & everything in-between. No day is the same which I love. Seeing couples put their trust in you to help them create their one off dream event is a huge privilege I take very seriously.
