What can you offer a couple for their Wedding day?
A fun, relaxed, light-hearted and colourful ceremony. I love to create ceremonies that involve moments of laughter, but I don’t allow that to overshadow the meaning or sincerity of the day. I tell all my couples that I am NOT a stand-up comedian, and I'm not going to pretend to be one at their ceremony, but I have my methods of prompting funny stories from their relationship out of them, and we use them to give everyone at the wedding a good giggle! Each ceremony I write is unique to the couples I’m writing it for – like a snowflake, no two Jackie Mac weddings are the same!

Did you always know that you wanted to be a Marriage Celebrant?
Yes and no. I was the stereotypical little girl, marrying off her Barbie dolls and keeping a wedding scrap book. Studying Event Management at university and moving into the wedding industry was a natural progression from that obsession, but it wasn't until I had been planning weddings for several years that I realised celebrancy was truly the perfect fit for me. It took me several more years after that to make the switch. Now that I am a celebrant, I can't imagine a more perfect job for me.
What keeps you inspired along the way?
The couples who trust me to create their dream ceremony! Each and every love story I hear inspires me to keep creating unique celebrations to honour them. I love love!
Do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences?
In my years working weddings I have seen everything, from lost limos driving brides around in circles, to broken cake toppers and wilted flowers. There are very few ‘perfect’ weddings, no matter how meticulously you plan them. With a can-do attitude, a fully stocked emergency kit (I bring one with me to every wedding) and a good sense of humour, anything can be turned from a potential disaster, into a comical story you will be telling for years to come.

What advice would you offer a couple just starting out on their search for the perfect Wedding Celebrant?
Try and pick somebody you would want to be friends with! If you can have a good chat and a laugh with your celebrant, your ceremony if far more likely to be fun and relaxed.

What is your own personal favourite style of ceremony?
Relaxed, boho chic, wedstival style. Give me acoustic music, native flowers, and a chilled, fun couple!
What is the best part about what you do:
There is no better feeling than the natural high you get driving home after a wedding, knowing you just played a part in one of the most important days in the life of a couple in love. It’s a truly exceptional and rewarding job.
