Luv Evie was born towards the end of 2017 from a little sewing machine in Sarah's spare room and inspired by her youngest daughter, Evie and her love of dresses. As she has grown, so has Melbourne based flower girl dress label Luv Evie and its beautiful style. Having met the most amazing and very talented people along her journey, Sarah has felt inspired and encouraged to continue creating.

What can Luv Evie offer for a wedding day? Luv Evie is an online boutique for simple yet elegant and somewhat unique flower girl dresses that are completely handcrafted by me from quality fabrics, linen being my favourite to work with. It is and always will be extremely important to me that I provide a service that people can rely on. My customers can communicate directly with me and can be confident they will receive a high quality dress that I have put all my love and care into and that you won’t find in stores.

Did you always know that you wanted to design children’s wear? It’s funny how life can turn things upside down and point you in a direction that you had never even considered before - Designing and sewing clothing had not been on my radar since high school. I am grateful every day that this is what I now do.

What keeps you inspired along the way? Seeing my dresses being chosen and worn on the most special of days is truly an honour and is such a rewarding feeling that I don’t think I could ever stop making them.

Do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences? Sewing and designing flower girl dresses was not something I had ever considered before. In the middle of 2017, I had what one might consider a bit of a nervous breakdown and knew that I needed a change in career. With three girls of my own, it had to be something that was flexible with family life and did not cause me massive anxiety at the thought of going to work.

I was lucky enough to have a friend ask if I would like to do some sewing for her and that definitely got the creativity flowing. I have never looked back. Mental health awareness is so important. It can sometimes be hard to see at the time, but I believe there is often a silver lining and Luv Evie was mine.

What advice would you offer a Bride & Co just starting out on their search for the perfect flower girl dress? Its important that your flower girls love the dress as much as you do! Most importantly, they need to be comfortable. I know with three girls that if they don’t like it and it is too tight or scratchy, they are certainly going to let you know it!

What is your personal favourite style? The “Evie” has been a big hit as has the “Lily” pinafore dress, but personally, I really love all of them!

What is the best part about what you do? I love the whole process of seeing my designs being brought to life as part of such a magical day and know how super special each little girl feels wearing them.
