When Yasmin was getting married she couldn’t find that dream experience of finding her perfect wedding dress so she started designing her own dress, and eventually, after months of searching, found the right dress maker to make her vision a reality. When it came time for Tash to start looking for her wedding dress she felt the same way so they bonded over a cocktail and a dream, to have their own bridal boutique in paradise, Byron Bay.

Tell us about what Oscar & Ivy Bridal can offer a Bride for their Wedding day? Our talented dress makers hand make every dress so no two dresses are ever the same and each dress comes with a range of variations which gives the bride an option to be part of the design process of her dream dress. A viewing and fitting at our Byron Bay Oscar & Ivy Boutique is the ultimate wedding dress shopping experience, the bride to be and their selection of family and friends have exclusive use of the boutique during their appointment and are pampered with one on one service and (of course) a celebratory Champagne.
Did you always know that you wanted to design magical Bridal fashion? Tash has been in the wedding industry for over five years as a wedding celebrant and Yasmin has a background in fashion design so individually the first sparks of creating wedding dresses were there but it wasn’t until they came together as a team that they felt they could bring their dream to life.
Tell us about how you came up with your boutique's name? We are often asked where the name Oscar & Ivy came from and naming our brand was probably the easiest part of the whole process - Tash has a two year old son called Oscar and Yasmin has an eight month old daughter called Ivy so naturally we called our business after our two beach babes.
What advice would you offer to Brides who are just starting out on their search for the perfect Bridal gown? We could talk about this all day! We are releasing a free guide on finding your dream dress that will be available to download on our website very soon but our basic advice is this;
• Start some mood boards from images you find from Pinterest or Instagram.
• Make a list of must haves and must nots to narrow down fabrics, neck lines and silhouettes (i.e must be white or ivory, must not be low cut)
• Bring your brutally honest friends to dress viewings (and we can’t stress this enough!)
• Try on at least two dresses that are not picked by you (have your family/friends or your dress consultant pick some options for you).
What's the best part about what you do? Seeing our creations come to life! And being a part of our brides wedding story brings us so much joy. Being able to do it all in paradise is such a dream come true too.
