There is the Old Church building which sets the style of the day, a simple white aesthetic with a window that captures a view to the water. The Old Church Red Hill are totally committed to creating a day that is very personal and do all that they can to make that happen, so when you add these two together it just creates magic.
How and when did The Old Church Red Hill come to be? In hindsight I think buying a property with two churches on it was always going to lead to a business but at the beginning it was about understanding the history and the location of this beautiful old weatherboard church. When our neighbours daughter asked to get married in there that was the beginning of our new venture as The Old Church Red Hill.
Tell us about what The Old Church Red Hill can offer a couple for their Wedding day?
Did you always know that you wanted to manage a Wedding + function venue? No it was not on the radar but we have been involved in event management for many years so that did help the transition and I’ve always loved a party!
Do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences? Besides the show-stopping window we are also known for our ‘win a wedding’ competitions. Weddings are expensive, we acknowledge that, plus the whole process of planning a wedding can be overwhelming and stressful. The Mornington Peninsula has so many talented suppliers that we thought, “why not give everyone an opportunity to have their dream wedding” and let’s provide this all for free. We just gave away a $52k wedding and currently in the process of planning and locking in our next one, which, fingers crossed is looking to be bigger! What advice would you offer to Nearly Weds who are just starting out on their search for the perfect venue? The first thing is to work out your budget, guest numbers and style. It can be an overwhelming process especially if you fall in love with a venue that is beyond what you can afford. Contact a number of venues and ask for their package details, see what they offer before viewing a venue, will save you a lot of time and energy. Instagram is a great platform for researching venues and other suppliers these days. And most importantly; venues book out quickly. It is best to lock in your ceremony and reception venue first before anything else.
