The creative style of Sunshine Coast based Wedding floral designer, Miranda of willow & wattle flora  is free-spirited + bohemian focusing on Australian grown flora and supporting local farmers wherever possible. Miranda offers her expert advice and experience ...

how and when was willow and wattle flora born?
Willow and Wattle Flora was born at the beginning of 2017, when I was getting tired of my Vet nursing job that I'd been doing forever and wanted to do something that set my soul alight. I converted my garage into a workshop, went to the flower markets and bought a few bunches of flowers, and the ball started rolling from there!

tell us about what willow and wattle flora can offer a couple for their Wedding day?
We can offer an easy, personal service with wild bohemian style blooms. We kind of became known for our use of Australian Natives but work with all types of beautiful blooms! I like to keep the flowers loose and unstructured, which I have found really resonates with our easy-going carefree brides!

do you have any stories that you would like to share from your experiences?
I got the opportunity to do the wedding flowers for my sister's best friend last year. It was really special getting to create a beautiful bouquet for my sister to carry down the aisle while she was maid of honour for her best friend!

Advice: Choose a florist with a style that you like, and then give them your full trust in the creative process. It is much easier for us to create something truly stunning and unique when there aren't too many specific details requested. Giving a colour scheme and a "buzz word" as I call it (eg. modern boho)

tell us about the best part about what you do:
I think my favourite part is when I deliver the bouquets to the girls when they are getting ready. I usually get a great reaction with lots of "oohs and ahs" and sometimes even tears! It's a super special moment.
