It was a pretty organic process I guess. I’ve worked in several different industries in the past, event management being one of them. Travel has always been a big part of my life, and in retrospect it’s probably what ignited my love of vintage in my younger days. (Self-confessed vintage rug addict right here, thanks Turkey!)
"Authentic vintage pieces have history and tell a story.
Breathing new life into them allows it to continue, and our clients become a part of that story."

It wasn’t until I started planning my own wedding last year that these three loves converged. I knew I didn’t want an ordinary wedding. Drawing inspiration from our travels through the Middle East and Africa, I wanted to transport my guests into a relaxed, exotic and eclectic space, that was uniquely is.
I won’t say it wasn’t stressful at times. Planning, coordinating and executing your own wedding in a short time frame (6 weeks. Yes, we are a little crazy! ) along with torrential rain on the day is not without its challenges. But as it turns out, I loved every minute of it!

Your family and friends will be celebrating with you, lounging on custom made eqipale sofas from Mexico, lush velvet 1960’s tub chairs and hand loomed rugs from Turkey and Morocco, all while resting their cocktails on vintage brass tray tables from India. Simply add delicious eats, a killer live band and beautiful blooms!

When planning my own wedding one of the major factors for consideration was the weather. Outdoor weddings are my jam and so after hours of researching past weather patterns for March over the last 5 years for my chosen wedding date (yep, I actually did that) my findings assured me it was a safe bet. It wouldn’t rain on my parade!
Cut to the wedding day. Rain of which the likes had never been seen! It was relentless. The guests arrived in the grass car park which quickly turned into an off road mud car rally. To be honest I think most people enjoyed that part...
My dream day consisted of an intimate celebration lounging outdoors on the sprawling lawns in the Autumn sun, taking in the natural beauty of our surrounds. I didn’t want a plan B. But thankfully I had one, and it actually turned out to be even better than what I had originally planned. The African stretch tents paired with our hand-picked decor in the Gold Coast hinterland created a truly magical atmosphere. Best day ever!
Rain doesn’t have to ruin your day, but it can if you haven’t accounted for it. Always have a plan B, it's worth the peace of mind!

advice:
Your wedding day will be one of, if not, the best parties you’ll ever throw so don’t hold back. Setting a realistic budget is a great place to start. Get clear on the atmosphere you want to create. Whether it’s an elegant fine dining soiree, or an all-out wedfest in the hills of Byron, a clear vision will narrow down your search making researching and selecting vendors who match your style a whole lot easier. And remember, Instagram and Pinterest your inspiration friends.
Make it a day that is unmistakably you! It’s one of the few occasions in life, where you’ll have every special person in your life in one place, for one day. Nothing can beat it!

Hunting down original pieces to add to our collection. I’m obsessed! Then getting to witness people’s reactions when they enter a space created with those pieces. It’s pretty satisfying. There is nothing better than seeing our furnishings amidst a group of family and friends laughing, clinking glasses and celebrating two awesome people in love.
