Heathcote based wedding cake + dessert designer Sprinkles + Cream Cakery offer everything from cupcakes to tiered cakes, dessert stations, personalised cookies and tasting packs. "One of the benefits of ordering through Sprinkles + Cream is that I am a one stop shop for the extra bits and pieces that make a wedding day special, such as display pieces, styling and florals for your reception." Loren tells. Loren spend times with each of her couples in her studio discussing their ideas and inspirations to ensure each cake is a unique and an unforgettable centrepiece for their special occasion.

how and when was sprinkles + cream cakery born?

I launched Sprinkles and Cream in September 2015 after spending years baking cakes for friends and family.

is there a story you would like to share from your experiences?
I’m so grateful to work for such lovely customers who become like friends. Even to say that on occasions I have been invited to after celebrations following the wedding. I find this to be quite humbling and like the thought that people feel comfortable when dealing with me.

advice:

My advice would be to choose your inspiration and find a decorator that specialises in that particular style. Every decorator specialises in something different. Customers often come to me for buttercream cakes with an artistic twist using florals and different textures. It’s also important to find someone who you feel comfortable in communicating with to ensure your vision is embraced to your satisfaction.

2020 wedding cake predictions:

My prediction for the upcoming year, as we see naked cakes become slightly less popular, is that decorators are becoming more adventurous in using different techniques. Mixed media techniques such as hand painting, etching, wafer paper and metallic embellishments are starting to be used more often. This is resulting in more artistic and original designs for each couple.

what keeps you inspired along the way?
My inspiration is drawn from my customers trust in my ability and style which allows my creativity to evolve and flourish. Texture is always a priority in my designs as well as pushing the boundaries to create something new and exciting.

t
he best part about what you do:
The best part of my job is chatting to clients after their big day and hearing how happy they were with their vision coming to life. Not only are they pleased with the design, but also how delicious the cake was to all. It’s important to me that my cakes taste as good as they look.
