I’ve always been a creative and have worked as a graphic designer/marketing coordinator for over 7
years. The lovely ink co is my side hustle which originally started as an Etsy store selling prints, then
digital invitations – to now offer printed custom wedding stationery. One day I hope to be able to do
this full-time.

is there a story you would like to share from your experiences?
I once had a couple who I worked with on their invitation suite – they were off to Europe for their
honeymoon. We got chatting about it over email and she asked me for some recommendations of
where to go in Mykonos. One day out of the blue, I receive an email with a photo the gyros bar I’d
told them about to say thank you for the recommendation! It absolutely made my day to think that
they thought of me whilst on their honeymoon (Jimmy’s in Mykonos – it’s an institution).

advice:
Don’t get caught up in what everyone else is doing – think about what you both love, what your style
is and create mood boards on Pinterest or within a folder to reflect this. This always helps us as
designers to get a feel for what you want – a picture tells a thousand words.

Foil and letterpress may look amazing but can also be out of your budget. There are so many ways to
still have an amazing invitation suite without having to rob a bank to pay for it… think about textured
or coloured papers, white ink or even classic black and white – you can’t go wrong.
Be honest with your designer, if you have a smaller budget, we do not mind at all – we love the
challenge of making the most amazing suite for you regardless.

2020 predictions:
I feel there will be a move towards sustainability, less acrylic and plastic and more recycled materials.
I make a point of only offering paper goods, using recycled papers and try to re-use any packaging I
can. I think that 2020 will see more neutrals, natural textures, minimalistic and simple designs, along with terracotta/earthy tones and dried florals. All of which I adore – so I’m excited to see what the next year brings!

tell us about the best part about what you do:
I just love playing a small part of such a big day in someone’s lives! Weddings can be so
overwhelming to plan – I like to try and make this part of their journey as easy and stress free as
possible. I love receiving emails from my customers after their weddings, with photos, stories and
feedback – it really makes you appreciate and love what you do even more.
