Perth based Wedding stylist + floral designer, Fete Luxe offer everything you need from the beginning of the planning process, design and styling concepts, florals and on the day co-ordination. Wedding stylist, Kristie shares her inspiration and advice.
how and when was fete luxe born? I have worked in events for about 12 years, starting from a casual employee at a venue setting weddings and events almost every weekend, I then became a functions and events manager. I moved away from events for a while and realised that it was my passion, I chose to go back to the industry again as an events manager.
From there, my creative dream to start my own business became a reality as I took the leap to follow my passion - initially I had thought of styling + hire, but my artistic side naturally drew me towards florals and creating installations along with styling and planning as I have such a broad background in this. I now run Fete Luxe and I also work full time as an events co-ordinator for one of Perths best venue/hospitality groups.
advice: When enquiring with a florist, make sure their previous work is of similar style to what you're envisioning. Each florist has their own style, but it may not be yours. Also trust your florist/stylist, it's what we do.
what keeps you inspired along the way? Mostly my couples, everyone has such different ideas and each event is a new challenge. Their visions for their events along with the continually changing trends always keeps the inspiration alive.
tell us about the best part about what you do: Everything. I love working with clients from the time they send through their initial enquiry through to bringing their vision to life, wherever possible I wait at the reception to see their faces as they see their set up for the first time. Their smiles and excitement say it all!
