wedding date 21st September 2019
130 wedding guests
Robbie + Emma met in Newcastle at a Newcastle Knights football game in 2009. "My sister Keira is in a relationship with Robbie's Best mate Jason so they organised to go to the footy together. A few years later Robbie + I saw each other again at the Longyard Hotel (Back home in Tamworth) and started dating not long after that. At the time, I was in Sydney + Robbie was living in Newcastle - we travelled back + forth each weekend to see each other.

We had been together for 8 years when we travelled to America and Canada on a holiday - Robbie packed a (fake engagement ring) in his luggage. While in Banff, Robbie + I went for a walk along a frozen lake at Bow Falls + as the snow was falling Robbie got down on one knee and popped the question. The proposal was captured on a go pro and played for the first time during the first dance.

What led you to decide on Goonoo Goonoo Station?
Choosing Goonoo Goonoo Station was the easiest decision we made for the wedding. We are both from Tamworth and wanted the wedding to be back home with all of our friends and family.
What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme?
I took inspiration from Mr & Mrs Hill (lighting) and other vendors and what they had done previously. I wanted something simple with a touch of elegance. I had lots of mood boards and Pinterest.

Favourite moment/s of the day: The ‘I do’s’, followed by the first dance and lotssssssss of dancing. The tequila shots before entering were fun! We had the best bridal - party eight bridesmaids + eight groomsmen + one flower girl.
Favourite detail: So many! The Luxe Bridal Team from Newcastle who made the effort to travel down the night before to Tamworth + did all of the hair and makeup for ten people on the day. My Cake was perfect and absolutely delicious - The flowers were more beautiful than I ever envisioned.

How was your dress/suit shopping experience overall? It took me a few months to find my dress, I put a deposit on one dress in Sydney and did the ‘yes to the dress’ and later found another dress that I liked more while I was back home. I got my dress 8 months before my wedding.
As for the suits, Robbie was so relaxed he sorted this out a month out from the wedding. (I was freaking out)

What does marriage mean to you? Marriage is building a life together with your person ~ Marriage is forever.
Any classic stories you want to share from the day? My bridesmaid knocked herself out on the dance floor.

Advice: Take time out away from your guests to enjoy some special time alone with your husband/wife. Don’t worry about the guests having fun, enjoy yourself and do what you want to do. It is unlikely that you will EVER get this many of your friends /family in one spot again.
And relax, breathe and take in what you’ve created - You did this!!
