Met the Uber talented wedding stylist and planner Kelly, who is the robust creative energy fueling Adelaide based wedding business Found Collective. "I offer wedding styling and coordination, as well as furniture + prop hire. From elopements and intimate weddings to large weddings, I have a number of packages to choose from. Whether you are having difficulty coming up with a design, concept or colour palette for your wedding, or just need advice, guidance and some coordination assistance along the way, I have packages to suit everyone."Kelly shares.

For clients who don’t require the full styling and coordination packages, but would like a little bit of advice and assistance along the way, Found Collective also offer styling consults which can be booked by the hour. In addition to their styling services, FC have a growing inventory hire collection, which now includes premium table linen and tableware.

how and when was found collective born? I came up with the idea and concept for Found Collective in early 2016 when I was unfulfilled in my job as a HR Manager. I’d been in HR for almost 10 years and being a creative person at heart, I was really craving a creative outlet. I loved the process of planning and styling my own wedding, and found it hard to find unique styling pieces here in SA. I also had a love of vintage and eclectic pieces, so I started sourcing vintage furniture and making props to hire out for events, quickly filling our garage at home meaning we had to move our cars to the street! Hire enquiries quickly evolved into styling enquiries and I absolutely fell in love with styling weddings and events. I’m truly grateful to be involved in such a special part of people’s lives, and am so passionate about what I do.

what is important to you when working with your client on their styling? The most important thing is my client, their personalities, interests and vision for their special day. I love to get to know my clients, how they met, what they love to do, and their personal style and hobbies/interests are also important to me when it comes to designing their wedding concept. I recently styled a wedding for a couple who love to travel, they’ve travelled all over the world, so when coming up with the concept for their wedding we decided to incorporate something about travel into the overall design. I asked them to tell me their most favourite places they’ve visited (whether in Australia or overseas) and we designed their seating plan and table numbers around this, with tables named after their favourite destinations. We also styled the wedding in a way that made it feel like somewhere exotic overseas, when in fact their wedding was held in outback SA.

advice? Your wedding is such a truly special occasion, and it’s so important that you choose a stylist or planner who you connect with, and who aligns with your style, vision and personality. Do your research, look at their previous work, read their reviews, and go with your intuition.

what keeps you inspired along the way? I’m inspired by architecture, unique shapes and designs, textiles, and incorporating different textures into my styling concepts. I’m also totally inspired by collaborating with other creatives, it’s so incredible seeing a group of talented creatives come together to create something magical.

the best part about what you do: Seeing the concept + design we’ve been working on for months come to life, and the anticipation of waiting for the couple to see it all on their wedding day. When the client walks in and sees their dream day realised for the first time, that moment is so special and priceless!

where are you based and do you travel? I’m based in Adelaide, South Australia but will travel anywhere interstate or overseas! I love travel so it would be my dream to style a wedding interstate or overseas.
