Verity + Josh were together for four years with the first year of our relationship being long distance with Verity in Toowoomba and Josh in Gladstone. "The long distance was almost a deal breaker at the start (more so for me - The Bride) but we realised there was something between us that just clicked and it was like we had known each other for years. It was enough to make the long drives and many flights worth it with some weekends that year spent meeting halfway at Rainbow Beach." Verity moved to Gladstone in 2019 and we got engaged the first weekend after that extended lockdown in June 2020 when we returned to Rainbow Beach for a weekend. Josh proposed at sunset on the dunes at Carlo Sand Blow. Because of all of the uncertainty with Covid, we waited over 6 months before seriously beginning wedding planning and we booked our venue in early 2021

Our wedding theme was made up of timber flower boxes of pink, white and toffee roses and pops of blue delphinium and floating candles. I loved having both my parents walk me down the aisle to Josh, that was very special. Also, having the people closest to us in one place to celebrate our love was also such a unique feeling I can not explain.
The Groom's fave moment was seeing Verity arrive through the chapel doors.
I clasped a precious Pearl brooch that was worn by my late grandmother and also my mother and aunts on their wedding days where I held my bridal bouquet.

We wrote our own vows so our ceremony reflected us as a couple which was really important to us. Even though a large part of weddings is emotional, I think the speeches were the most emotional for us. There was something about having our parents and bridal party speak from the heart about us as individuals and as a couple.

I think it helped to encourage mingling and meant people came and chatted with us during the reception more than if we were on a separate bridal table without spare chairs around us. We arranged a timber board with photos a hanging of our grandparents and parents who if we added it up have had hundreds of happy years of marriage between them.
